Vid Card fans....

try a thermaltake blue Orb or a vantec iceberq, u can get those at newegg or even compusa i think. they are a little noisy (to me) tho.

if u want a silent solution and dont mind paying for silence, try the zalman zm80a (fanless)

the fan on my geforce was making this really annoying scratching noise.. and it eventually broke off.

is it ok to just have a heatsink with no fan on it? I've been using it like this for a while.. i hope it doesn't die.

I don't know hunhyung, but I definitely wouldn't take the chance. At the least I would expect the life of your Geforce card to be drastically shortned...

i dont think u can just replace the fan on the heatsink. the best you can do is buy a new heatsink and fan like the ones mentioned above. id go for the zalmans myself...i heard they are much quieter than the thermaltake solutions.

hunhyung: i dont think going without the fan on the gfx card is a very good for the card. probably shorten the life of the gpu like cha0s said. invest in a heatsink and fan it will be worth it.
