vid card died - need mid range AGP replacement

Been out of the loop for awhile. The card that died was an ATI 9500 non pro. Need a similar replacement. Thanks for any suggestions.
 
6600GT would be faster, and the cheapest choice I would consider.

6800GS is a step up from the 6600GT but cost more.

At the top of the line AGP is the 7800GS which is the most expensive of the three.

So take your pick.
 
Guys, the 6800GS and 7800GS are not similar to an ATI 9500, they're in a completely different price range.
I would suggest a 9800 Pro, or a 6600, or a 6600 GT (the GT is an awesome card if you can find the money--should be around $110-120 depending on rebates). Just make sure you stay away from Geforce FX if possible.
 
How about getting a 9800pro or XT? Those could be found rather cheap right now. If you want to upgrade then grab a 6800GS or 7800GS, but if you want something around the price of your card, grab a 9800pro or XT, probably the pro though. Better performance/buck compared to the 9800XT.

P.S. 6600GT would be a great choice also.

I'd say check the hot deals forum on this website. Lots of good deals on cards that would be a serious upgrade from your old card for cheap. :thumbsup:

what is your budget?

on the low end and still a decent upgrade is the 9800np
Now:Radeon 9800 ~$76+ship

on the high end is the 7800GS for ~300

and in the middle sits the 6800GS for ~$200

with the x1600p and 6600GT for ~$120

lotsa good choices 😉

I will second this suggestion! If you can afford it, then go with the 6600GT.
