vid card burned - is it the card or my powersupply?

okay so my dad told me over the phone about how the computer turned off and wouldn't turn back on - at first i thought power supply. but when i came home and fiddled around with it - the computer turned on but i then noticed some scorching sounds -not to mention the smoke from the video card - i turned the computer off and found that the vid card was fried.

not i stuck my old voodoo3 in there and wondering if it was the card (PNY verto ti4200) the burn marks came from the card near what looks like a cap - i'm thinking it was the card but? should i be worried it could be something else? the burn marks are on the card itself - nothing seems to be wrong with the comp thou now- thanks for the help in advance

Hi, The saftey vent on an Electrolitic cap is at the bottom, others would be obvious. A cap probably shorted and blew. The cap was defective. Chances are it did no damage to the Mother Board or PSU.
