My friend has a couple of movies on LD that are not available as DVD and will probably never be available in their original form on DVD
What kind of hardware should i get to cap them? I was looking at a leadtek winfast tv2000xp deluxe but im not sure how good it is at video capture.. is it hardware mpeg2 encoding? I'm also using crappy integrated audio on my system should i pop in an old sb live for this project? What kind of software will I need? I know about virtualdub and dscaler, would I need anything else to process the video? What about making dvd menus? what issues will i have to look out for like de-interlacing and the like? I'd also like to make the discs 16:9 anamorphic , what would mean i'd have to re-encode to cut off the black bars right?
