it was a legitimate question.

what exactly are you proud of?

what has russia done to make you so very proud?

If ya looked at the second link, it's Victory over Germany in 1945.

is that too had to do?

I liked how Allies marched at this one, very nice showcase of military stuff for potential buyers world wide and tribute to all heroes of the WWII hell. All those men with medals are still around 65 years later and I hope they live long to tell and remind us that we must never forget.

The Russians celebrate this day in Riga in a large park that houses some hideous commie-era statue. Pretty much every Latvian despises the dirty Russians that do this. To them, the local Russians are essentially celebrating the beginning of their 50 years occupying their country and the murder and deportation of half of their country's citizens, which is pretty much what "Russian victory" means. Growing up under occupation, you learned not about WW2, but about the war between Russia and Germany. No one else was involved. The heroic Russians defeated the tyrannical Germans, blah blah...

Cool stuff. The Russians know how to put on a good show. Part 2 is the good stuff though.

Who ever is in charge of the TV coverage should be sent to Siberia though. I don't want to watch 2 commentators looking up into the sky at the flyover(though the chick as Hot).
