I need a new bag, specifically a back pack since I have uneven shoulder wear (as in they're tilted :() Sucks.

Need: Durable. Carries laptop (sometimes), books, notebook, stuff (power adapter, food, small electronics, etc). Weather proof because wet notes and books suck, and laptop doesn't like rain. Mosly for school but I plan on going hiking as well.

Has anyone tried Victorinox back packs? I see TNF bags all of the time but I don't want to be trendy, but will buy one if that's what it comes down to.

I have a nice Jansport backpack. It's roomy. I use it everywhere I go. I got it sophmore year of high school. It's still in perfect condition (although a bit dirty). I'm about to graduate college. I  it.

Victorinox - from what I heard is not bad but I never used them
Eddige Bauer - Great bags back in the day but their selection just sucks now.
The North Face - I have the Recon II and it is pretty good (I got a discount from ebags that's why I bought it) otherwise it can be pricey
Jansport - I used this brand when I was younger but the zipper always broke.

Not sure about other brands but I would recommend north face.

victorinox and wenger don't make their own bags or clothing I believe, they just re-badge them and sell the brand image. you are buying whatever contractor they have making those bags.

having said that, I bought a wenger day pack, it's been about half a year and I've taken it on quite a few hiking trips, it has held up quite well, still looks fairly new. the only thing I don't like about it is that it is that it's a little heavy so I have to really trim down what I put in the pack.
