Yes, BUT as AMDZen pointed out, Vick is not even the most sacked QB in the league. Plus Vick's skillset should enable him to escape many of those situations. The problem is that he is a turnover machine.

I hear you guys about the injuries to the o-line, but I seem to remember catching flack when I complained about the Colts o-line losing 3 starters and IIRC their top backup one year.

I actually laugh more about Redskins fans thinking Shanahan is the answer than I do about their comments about RG3 not being a "running" QB. The Skins are screwed as long as Snyder owns the team. Take it for what its worth but Stephen A. Smith said he has been told by reputable sources that Dan Snyder forced Shanahan's hand on RG3 and that Shanny actually wanted to wait and draft Tannehill. I believe it. Look at the QB's that Shanahan has drafted in the past, his last one was Jay Cutler. I also believe Stephen A. because he does have many many contacts in that part of the country. It also doesn't make a lot of sense that you would give up so much on an unproven commodity, its not like he is that arrogant to believe he would hit a home run. You don't give up 3 first round picks and a second in this league, you don't. The only move I can think of that is worse was the Carson Palmer move Oakland made, and before that the trade Ditka made to get Ricki Williams. Dumb.

Luck has already proven he is far superior, people who think RG3 should have been drafted 1st are ... I don't know what the word is, crazy. And to be honest, I think Tannehill might be better as well. Watching RG3 play on Sunday was embarrassing. His worst game for sure and I won't hold it too much against him being a rookie and all, he has looked really really good at times, but he seems to already be regressing a la Cam Newton. Its weird. And to finish my thought, before too much longer I do believe Tannehill will be better.
 
Hell, I even think Russell Wilson might be a better QB in this league. Wouldn't surprise me. Congrats to Seattle on picking him up, he shows real improvement week to week.

Amazing how this stuff shakes out, isn't it? Earlier this year I heard people saying Christian Ponder should have been the first QB taken in the 2011 draft, ahead of Cam, Locker, Gabbert, and Dalton. Now he looks to have the early signs of a bust. Two out of his last three games he's thrown for under 65 yards. That's pathetic. Went 4 games with no interceptions, now he's thrown 8 in the last 5 games and his completion percentage has taken a nosedive.

Now maybe it's just a mini slump but it's hard to argue with three straight terrible performances. The difference is with RGIII we've seen what he can do; he has tremendous upside, way more than Ponder (who would likely never be more than a decent game manager even if he does get out of his slump).

sometimes i wonder if any of you watch more than sports center highlights.

Absolutely. I guess Cam could still bounce back but Dalton seems like the most consistent.

Luck has been incredible though. Way past expectations, which is crazy considering how high those were.

It is amazing how the RG3 hype has basically hit a brick wall over the last week or so, isn't it? As you state, Luck has proven he is a far superior prospect and if things continue as they are now, Redskins fans are going to be crying in their beers when Luck is named OROY.

I admit I haven't watched RG3 play much, but I did watch several minutes of the Giants game and I saw lots of what I call "kiddie offense" formations (mimicking the wish bone, wildcat, and other option-style offenses). When I saw that, I immediately knew Redskins fans were full of shit.

No one said he was a bust. AMDZen and I have been bludgeoned to death by RG3 fans all season because we've maintained from the start that Luck is the superior prospect. Heck, I even said earlier this year that RG3 would be successful sooner than Luck but Luck would have the better career. As it turns out, Luck will set several rookie records while RG3 won't, and while you guys may say "Luck has better receivers!," Luck does not have a running game and pretty much carries the entire offense. I promise you that Luck would've been the top overall pick regardless of which team had that pick (the Redskins would've picked him too) and not only that, Luck would've been the top overall pick last year had he come out. Scouts don't lightly throw around comparisons to Manning and Elway -- they see something there too.

Luck improves every week and is simply amazing to watch. I can already see a HUGE difference in his play in just the last 8 weeks.

I mostly just watch Redzone so I will admit that other than the national games, most of what I've seen is only when the Skins are "in the Redzone"

I'll say this though, I don't know why Skin fans think they have to love RG3 just because it's their team, I would be upset that my team gave up so much when I see Tannehill play

I'd like to point out that Peyton Manning doesn't really even need an offensive line for his gameplan. 2 step drop and the ball is out of his hands before the defense even is out of their stance on most plays.

Just sayin'.

Whatever n00b, our o-line is one of the best in football bar none. You clearly haven't seen the Broncos play. He has like all day back there.

Manning leads the league in passer rating for a reason and a lot of it is his protection.

Luck is just so good. I am so jealous of Indy fans. First PFM and now this? You guys don't know how good you have it.

I think PFM may yet have the best years of his career ahead of him though, so I'm certainly not complaining. I just see him this year and think, wait until next year after the Broncos get just a couple more pieces and we could easily see the SB next year.
 
I havent kept up with the Eagles at all but after watching last nights game? Damn, the O-line looked like they got hit by a truck every play.

I'm a Redskins fan and thus partial to RG3, but I'm not going to deny that Luck is a great prospect who looks like he's going to be an elite QB in this league. So many skills . . .

Denver has a great offensive line because Manning makes them look great. Honestly, and you're going to hate this comparison but it's the fucking truth, Buffalo's offensive line is comparatively "great" as well for the exact same reason. Fitzpatrick isn't taking sacks because he gets the ball out quick and it makes the line look good.

Of course in my example, it doesn't help so much that Fitzpatrick tends to throw it to the other team... but that's a completely different story.

Oh, and LeSean McCoy is one of the best backs in the NFL, and Andy isn't giving him the ball.

I'll even take another year of Mike Vick, but I think I want a new coach.
