Several seasons of excellence? Lol. Does he have moments of brilliance? Definetely. He has a great game and is a good qb but not greatxand not top 10.

Every year the chargers start slow, play like shit even. This pick it up and play great until the playoffs and then suck ass and make a first round exit.

Rivers and Romo are the same. They are not good leaders and that's why both may go their whole careers without winning a championship. Both good qbs that are sometimes great and are both assholes and terrible leaders.

Cutler may have this problem too. Vick too even. There are others that fit this description but to single out Vick is pretty funny. Alex smith will get closer to sniffing the Lombardi trophy then rivers ever will.

I don't think being a top 10 QB means as much as you seem to think it does.

It's amazing two different teams have given this guy 100+ million dollar contracts only to see him fail miserably. Sure the flashes of brilliance are enticing but look at the body of work.

LOL @ everyone jumping at Vick not having as good a year. DeSean Jackson gives up on routes and couldn't care less half the time. His o-line completely blows. The play calling blows.

And yet nobody is giving Philip Rivers shit for sucking ass this year more than just about any QB, even though he has consistently played his worst when it matters most.

Did Phillip Rivers run a dog fighting ring too?

The comparison to Phillip Rivers is stupid. Yes, Rivers is having a bad year. But for Rivers, that is an exception to the rule whereas with Vick, mediocrity has been the rule with last year being the exception.

I understand his struggles today. I mean, he must be playing a top defense, right? That must be why he has thrown 4 INTs, right? Oh wait -- he is playing the FREAKING BROWNS! LOL!

As an eagles fan I am concerned, but he did manage only 12 snaps in the preseason because of injury issues.

He still did manage to pull his shit together in crunch time and win the game.

That said if he doesn't get better in a hurry they are in trouble.

But they played Cleveland, which isn't like a real NFL team. Look at Branden Weeden's awful stat line:

12-of-35 for 118 yards, four interceptions and a 5.1 rating

Vick and the Eagles should be ashamed. I'm sure a certain individual will be along to defend him any minute.

If he can keep his ribs intact and get some more game time, he'll be fine. I am more worried about injuries than today's sorry ass performance...

Disappointed more likely. This is like a repeat of last year except they got a W because Cleveland has a JUCO offensive.

Weeden had horrible stats, yes, but he wasn't playing defense.

Cleveland does have some decent talent on D (esp Haden at CB) and at least they have a D coordinator (Jauron I believe) who has been around the block and had a scheme that worked pretty well at confusing Vick. Other teams will probably be able to emulate with Cleveland did today and if so Eagles are in trouble unless Vick tightens his shit up.

Vick is declining. I watched the 4th quarter of that game. Yes, he threw 4 INTs and the game winning TD, but I hope nobody is forgetting the play before. He giftwrapped an INT and the defender had it glance off of him.

Hopefully Nick Foles is the next Tom Brady, because Vick is either going to get hurt or underperform his way to the bench sometime this season. I'd rather Vick get it together and be awesome because I'm an Eagles fan, but NOBODY with that OL, plus McCoy, Maclin, Jackson and Celek should look that bad. Vick manages to make his OL look like turnstiles while buying time to not get the ball to the other skill players.

Vick is confused by pretty much any defensive system that doesn't allow him to roll out of the pocket and either beat the defender to the corner or find a wideopen WR. He's physically gifted, but has below average football intelligence, which is a shame because if he could just be mentally average he'd be elite.

I said this in another post, but Vick didn't pull his shit together to win the game. Right before the game winning TD, he giftwrapped an INT and the defender wasn't looking and had it glance off of him. That game should have ended with another red zone/end zone INT, and pure luck prevented that.

So many Vick haters in this thread.

He had a terrible game. This is not the whole season. Like others I am still more concerned he wont last a whole season.

Vick still won and did better than Weeden. It doesn't matter anyway, he and RGIII will be hurt by week 5. You heard it here first.

Vick did better than Weeden? Wow how low have we fallen in the last year or so. :p

I'm just shocked at the number of attempts he had in this game. WTF? This is Vick, not Manning/Brady/Brees/Rodgers/etc. The Eagles have McCoy and need to remember that.

Why would Andy fatass Reid run with one of the 5 best running backs in the nfl when he could pass with one of the 5 worst QB's?

Vick has proven time and again that he relies solely on his talent and rarely uses his brain to win games. With his talents on the decline where does that leave him?

Vick is an average, maybe slightly above average, QB -- which is what I've said all along and the usual Vick lapdogs (LOL!) run to his defense (you're not one of them). The only reason he is slightly above average is his running. While he has a strong arm, his passing skills have regressed since his one good year (see below).

As I told certain individuals in this thread earlier, Vick has to string multiple great seasons together before he is considered a great QB. He has only had 1 season ever with a QB rating over 85 (discounting the year he had a 93.7 rating and threw a grand total of 13 times, of course). His performance dropped off last year in terms of completion percentage, QB rating, interceptions, TDs, and YPA, and he played more games last year than the year before (which accounts for his increase in passing yardage).

So, a guy drafted #1 overall in 2001 and who has played in the league since then (minus the years missed due to jail time) is better than a rookie starting his first game for one of the worst teams in the league? This is an accomplishment? Come on SP33Demon, you're better than that!

I am sorry, but Vick is a running back with a decent arm. He has never been a true quarterback, and that shows in his decision making. Sure, he has moments of clarity where he can run the offense, put his passes on the mark, and put points on the board but he lacks consistency. His best performances are when he gets out of the pocket and creates on the fly, but that is also when his durability (or lack thereof) is brought to the forefront and he winds up on the bench. If the Eagles don't get Nick Foles up to speed quickly, it has the makings of a long disappointing season.

Vick was rusty and will improve on that performance, but to what level? Vick is simply not an elite NFL QB. You could sail a supertanker through the gulf between Peyton Manning's football IQ and Vick's.

As an Iggles fan, I hope to hell Vick and Fat Andy prove me wrong. I don't think I am, though. :(

I'm just mad that Vick and his 2 TD and 4 INT somehow managed to get 2 more fantasy points than Brady with his 2TD and 0 INT. nearly identical yards numbers, as well.

WTF??
