Am I the only one not fazed by this and thinks this 'documentary' is flawed?
The show made a broad stroke of the entire Japan from a fringe group of sexual deviants.
They showed couple of anime dating (nothing new), dominatrix (which came from Western scene) and paid female companionship (uh, I see this all the time here) is really no big deal. I see NOTHING out of ordinary that you can't find here in US or other countries. Venture out to Craigslist, you'll see plenty of these- escorts, paid dates in front of family/friends, paid naked cleaning lady, etc.
They cherry picked few people who doesn't want to date, then they applied this to paint the entire nation. :hmm:
For every 1 person who don't want to date, you got your typical Asian girl (or regardless of race) that want to date, get married, have a job AND be a mom, and raise a family. And Yakuza isn't some mindless violent gang. They exist in a societal scale in Japan for a reason- they run businesses, participate in government activities, even do charity work on regular basis. To call Yakuza a 'gang' as one would interpret it as similar to brainless idiots of Bloodz & Crips of US is vastly misleading.
Why is the host scared of meeting Yakuza for some drinks? wtf, did they look dangerous to you?
What a weaksauce agenda-ridden segment. And this comes from someone who's not fond of Japan.
