I was merely making fly puns.

I watched the same painful debate you did and heard the same talking points and healthcare fear mongering from the left and 'alternative facts' and neighborhood security fear mongering from the right. The moderator just sucked. She should never have that job again....in the future, they need to attach cattle prods to the candidates. They get shocked if they want to talk longer than 2 mins...every 10 seconds over, the shock intensity goes up a notch.

You think the health care talking points were fear mongering?

So the current admin who is in court right now trying to get the ACA invalidated is what? Fake news?

this debate is making me more angry than the first and i have never wanted to punch someone in the face more than Pence.
Totally agree, this one made me a lot angrier. I was fuming. Not yelling, but I did give Pence two fingers once. Mofo was hell of disrespectful talking over those two women and refusing to give up the floor again, again and again. He'd made up his mind he had to regurgitate all his talking points, fuck the rules.

It’s not fear mongering because the ACA is dead by next June. There will have to be a new law enacted by then or 20 million people lose coverage and 70million plus people with pre existing conditions will either lose their coverage for issues related to their Preexisiting conditionor their entire coverage as it will get more expensive.

Well, yeah. Kamala looked at the camera and said, "They're coming for you!". I'm a moderate Democrat...so I lean left. I suppose I just got burned out from the last 2 election campaigns arguing about it.

I know what Trump is trying to do and don't agree with abolishing the ACA.

Raise taxes again. $2,000 dollars? Who got $2,000? Many also got a furlough or pink slip.
It was a lie. Debunked in NBC's fact checking. Completely false. It's a deduction that won't disappear under Biden/Harris.

I think the only thing that will come out of this debate is it will change nothing. Not that the VP debates usually do. I fear people went into this expecting Harris to rip Pence to shreds but that ain’t happening at all.
I didn't expect that. Why should she? The race is NOT neck and neck. No reason to leave the man screaming and disembowled on the floor.

I think people wanted that to happen. In fact I’d say most people want anyone in the trump admin to be ripped to shreds politically speaking.

I want everything about this administration to be rebuffed, especially their lies and talking points.

Right. Trump is trying to do away with the ACA. I'm not sure if this has to do with insurance cost burdens on business or lobbyists from the worthless insurance companies that don't want to cover pre-existing conditions within the confines of the ACA (which they all agreed to).

i avoided the first one like the plague. was this really that bad by comparison?
They were bad for different reasons. Team trump has super bad manners, refuses to respond appropriately. This moderator was super weak. Questions sometimes OK, totally unable to keep order. Glad when this shit was over. That fly was literally hilarious. It was right at home. Probably something that Pence had on his hair.

This portends badly for the next Trump Biden debate. After seeing Pence, don't see Trump being shackled.
If we are lucky, Trump will be too sick to attend any further debates, I sincerely think and feel that.

Kind of a symbol of Trump's whole philosophy: distort the facts, lie, and dont obey the rules. I agree this moderator was terrible, even more incompetent because we saw what Trump did in the first debate, and she should have been prepared to cut Pence off. The Dems should refuse to debate again without some way to control who is speaking. OTOH, maybe the best thing that can happen is the debates show what kind of cheating, power mad demagogues Trump and Pence really are.

Without the ACA, what reason would the insurance companies have to exempt pre-existing conditions?

Pence kept talking about Soleimani as though it wasn't a controversial hit. He certainly didn't talk about the chain of events it caused in the form of retaliation from Iran. (Air liner shot down, attack on 2 bases in Iraq)

Covid quickly changed the subject mid-February where this was big news in mid January.

I'm saying I don't know what is the major driver in the right wanting to get rid of it, both probably.

BREAKING NEWS
Donald Trump to build a wall to keep the flies out of America.
AND... Trump will make the flies pay for that wall.
But that fly was bilingual. I'm pretty sure it was born in America too, but Trump will deny it.

Are people's memory so short they don't remember republicans with trump's direction almost did repeal the ACA? They did not have a plan to replace it and still don't.

Doubtful. Both parties turned in sub par performances. Neither did anything to move the needle in either direction, except Pence might have pissed off the moderate/independent female voters but they probably weren’t voting Trump anyways.
Kamala showed a lot of humanity, Pence none whatsoever. She won votes versus the guy with the bug on his head.

What's funny, is the talk about the ACA now being a violation of the constitution because of the zero dollar amount introduced for the no insurance coverage mandate that was introduced with Trump's rewrite of the tax laws. So, wouldn't that actually make the new tax laws unconstitutional with that clause in them, and not the actual ACA, since it was the new tax laws that caused the violation?
