I admit I hate him (I'm from North Carolina--I have my reasons) but this is sad. I think he should be replaced. I wish him the best of health though...

UPDATE: He checked in voluntarily as per his doctor's recommendation. CNN made it sound like he had suffered some sort of severe health problem..

Powell doesn't want the vp job. It would be a step down for him. I would nominate a democratic senator from a state with a republican governor. Then you can chalk up one less dem in the senate, and send him to micro-asia for a 6 month whirlwind get out of my hair tour

I doubt the republicans would go for that, considering that, with W. in office, the VP pretty much runs the country
