Vice City graphics

Are the graphics worse than GTA3?

I don't mean how they run, but the way they look. The graphics in gta3 looked more like a good cartoon. Is vice city just a different style or did they cut back something?

Graphics look great in Vice City. Although, I do have an AIW Radeon 9700 Pro...so I run at insane resolutions, but I think they looks great.

I don't mean the quality of the graphics that would result from card differences or anything like that, I mean the style of art.

I was noticing how certain things don't have as much detail. Like when you run over a fire hydrant the water is pretty much just a bunch of straight lines shooting up in the air, but in gta3 it had more detail.

It's not important to how the game is played, I just thought gta3 looked better.

Motion trails were left out of VC since they caused so many probs in GTA3, but there are a lot of new features present (reflective 32 bit floors, sunbeams, etc) I'm running it on a 9700 Pro with 4x AA at 800x600 on a 33" monitor and it looks jaw dropping. 🙂

I rather like the graphics in Vice City. I run it at 1280x1024 and it looks great. Only runs at 30 frames per second, though. I turned off the frame limiter and no saved games will load. Loaded up a save game, then turned the limiter off and it ran at about 115 or so, but I didn't like the way it looked and it messed up my sound. Call me crazy, but it was too smoothe with the limiter off. Too bad they didn't limit fps to 60 or something instead of 30.

800x600 on a 33" monitor is jaw dropping?
