I was quite happy when I heard the news. I work for Echostar Communications (Dish Network) and the call volume as of late has been a bear to deal with. And considering that I'm in a department that takes supervisor approval to get to that's saying something.

Cool. I figured it wouldn't last long and guessed in another Dish thread that I would be surprised if this didn't get resolved before Thursday (one of the biggest viewing audience nights of the week and when CBS heavyweights Survivor and CSI come on.) I didn't get a chance to watch TV before leaving the house today so I didn't notice the lost channels were back. Comedy Central was the only one I watch regularly so I wasn't all that affected by the lost channels. We still had our CBS here in Birmingham during the blackout.

It was a little frustrating, but I'm probably not going to jump ship. Despite having to go through this twice now (my area was also affected by the Albritton dispute w/Dish last year when Albritton pulled their local ABC affilate off the air for two days) I've been pretty pleased with Dish. I like the fact that they offer a Top 50/60 package for $10 cheaper a month since the additional channels gained in Dish and DirecTv's 100+ channel packages don't really add anything I'd watch anyway. The DirecTivo's are pretty cool (my parents have two which I use extensively when I visit them) but I don't quite understand the orgasms some people here seem to get when talking about them. Other than the lack of a Season Pass feature I've been pretty pleased with my DishPVR 508 and will likely be adding whatever dual tuner model they have out now (assuming I can get it for free or practically free like last time.)
