Viable techie fix for the infamous Dell LCD pwr sw failure.

Title says most of it..I have read about others with this issue..but rather than RMA the unit..can the pwr sw be repaired ? I presently own a 22 in Dell LCD without the problem as yet..but would like to have a fix ready should I be presented with a pwr sw failure. Mind you..I DON'T mash on my sw very hard..is this problem due to abuse by users, or is it just a poorly designed component ?
