Soon I will have an AMD system setup.

[*]Abit KX7-333
[*]512 PC2700 Samsung
[*]Windows XP Pro
[*]XP2000+ CPU

I have read and saw that most people still run rock stable with newer 4in1s. Is the 4.38's fine ? What will I need to install, as I am running XP, or will the installer automatically decide ? ( I will not need the IDE bustmaster right ? ) Or can someone give me more details on the install of the 4in1s. I haven't had an AMD system in over a year.

Also, I have also heard of using George's PCI Latency Patch( not the beta version ) and enabling Memory interleave These programs. Those will just have to be installed and than benchmarked to see if they actually help me, right ?

Thanks for any input.

Just install the VIA 4.38's.
I've found 'George's PCI Latency Patch' to be un-needed, and I get better results with VIA's own PCI latency patch included with the 4in1's anyway.

Most decent motherboards support memory interleaving in the BIOS by default, I'd be surprised if that wasnt true for the KX7-333 also... so ignore that app.

If you`re going to install the VIA 4 in 1 drivers you might as well install the latest version which are 4.40,I`ve never had any problems with installing them on my WinXP rig,btw on normal install(recommended install) it only updates the INF files and AGP driver.
