I read this controller is capable of RAID 0+1, so would it also be capable of running four drives in a RAID 0 configuration?

I am currently running two drives in RAID 0 on a promise controller, and I'm one drive away from having four identical drives. If I knew for sure the VIA controller could support 4 drives in RAID 0 I want to try it, I think it would be fun to play with. I was hoping somebody here would know so I dont have to find out the hard way, but I will if I have to.

Thanks
Jason

I could be wrong, but I think it will make two seperate raid 0 arrays of two drives each, and one can either mirror the other (0+1), or be seen as a separete HD's (C=2HD's & D=2HD's). Did I make sense?

you'll have to check with the manufacturer to be sure, but my software RAID card (adaptec 1200A) will support 4 drive RAID 0. I'd think if your cardis capable 1+0 (which is a 4 drive array) it would have no problems with RAID0x4.
most software RAID cards are able to do both, usually the features that are resevered for professional cards are arrays like RAID 5. That would require a "hardware" RAID card.
