Hey, I just came across this on the VIA website, I think it went unnoticed due to recent events:
Here

<< VIA is filing criminal suits over the willful destruction of VIA property by Intel representatives and employees at the Computex 2001 tradeshow held in Taipei in June 2001. >>

This will be interesting

When i first read that, disgust filled me... but now i'm laughing because i have the image of the time when Homer Simpson had an 'internet business', and Bill Gates came with his nerd thugs to break all the equipment.

Anyways, who do they think they are? The mob?

LMAO!

"We the people find in favor of VIA for the amount of $2.61 to cover the cost of the destruction of VIA's property"

Not much detail in VIA's press release. Just how does Intel's 845 infinge on VIA's patents? And the P4 infringes on VIA's patents????? In any event, you won't see me shed any tears if Intel gets knocked off their high horse.

<< where's a less partial story? as in, one not found on Via's own website? >>

I was wondering that myself, but I couldn't find anything on google...

Actually, this is just VIA's reaction to the fact that Intel has filed (meritless) suits against them for creating a P4 chipset that is better than Intel's.
