I think i read somewhere that via might be releasing a dual channel socket A chipset this month or next
is this true or was the news misreported where i read it ??

heh yeah that's the only reason i didn't get the kt600

if it's not too much trouble I was wondering if you could post some sisoft mem and cpu arith scores on your kt600 setup with whatever speed your at ??

sorry... i had a single SATA drive on it when i was playing around with it while waiting for my 2 raptors. but i havent had the time to even install an OS on the array as of yet.

Heres a review with the sisoft benchmarks you may want to check out... weird enough though... that's probably the only review where the KT600 actually isn't looking so bad... everywhere other review i've seen didn't look so good.

yeah that looks right... the KT600 was behind the the nforce by quite a margin... i think anandtech has a review of the A7V600 where its around ~20fps behind... 😕 oh well... not bad for $70. 🙂
 
Yeah, the 880 is due in a month or so.
. My god I can't stand it! As if +/-5% on some benchmark makes any real world difference... Those pizza faced idiots doing the reviews on the tech sites make 5 FPS out of 300 (i.e. less than 2%) difference sound like the second coming.
. Get real! The KT-600 is a fast, stable chipset - read the recent review of the Soltek on AT. The SiS 748 is pretty good too. And with the money I save over an nf, I can bump a couple notches up the CPU food chain...

I agree many do, but we're all hoping the dual channel via chipset will offer more performance than a measley 5% if not stock then atleast when overclock (at worst their will be more competition)
btw this chipset will use some of the tech from via's P4 dual channel chipset and maybe even some work from their upcoming hammer chipsets

it could be good
i'lll be watching
