VIA PT880 and Dual Channel?

Hi guys, I just purchased an ABIT VT7 motherboard with the VIA PT880 chipset only because my last mb didnt have dual channel capabilities. Right now though, Im running a 2.4B processor with 2 x 256mb of Corsair PC3200 XMS ram. I just installed XP and started running some benchmarks to see how the dual channel is running. I use the shareware version of Sandra 2004 and am getting the same score for Memory Bandwidth which is around 3150-3300 but in benchmarks from other sites, I believe I should be getting in the 5000s, and I when I run PCmark2002, my memory score is in the 6000 range. So what could be the issue. Is it the ram? is it the processor? is it the motherboard? When I check out the BIOS, its on dual channel. I should be getting a 2.6C processor within a week or two from a member here so maybe that'll change things. I dunno, any help would be great.

edit: I updated the BIOS to the newest version, no change.

tell us how you installed your 2 sticks of ram in that board.
you might be running single channel mode.

For dual channel to work you've got to install the ram in slot 1 and slot 3.

Yep, i tried 1 and 3 and then 2 and 4, but its still the same.
