[/i]REPORTS in the Taiwanese press said that Via will introduce its Pentium 4 chipset at no more than $35, a move set to further irritate the chip giant.

The P42X66 double data rate (DDR) chipset is expected to be introduced in August and Via hopes motherboard makers will adopt it wholesale.

Not too far off, i'm interested to see how this chipset performs

Will be interesting to see what (if anything) is wrong with VIA's chipset when it comes out. I certainly hope that it'll be a solid one.

Hrm - aren't they scrambling behind the scenes to avoid legal action from Intel, as the two haven't still reached a licensing agreement on this matter?

Yeh, i'm not holding my breath for it launching as a fully stable chipset

Yeah, VIA launching a stable chipset straight away, that would be news indeed :).

Hrm - the fun of the computer instustry - legal stuff left, right and center. "You're my friend, but I still have to sue you" ... ah well. Not as if it hasn't happened before :).
