I would like to know if the memory performance on the Via chipsets have improved. I would like to buy a new motherboard and I don't want to purchase another Asus CUSL2. I don't need all the USB ports and I would like a board that can support more than 512MB of ram. It also has to be able to run at 133FSB within spec. (NO BX) Is there a big difference between the CUV4X and the P3V4X besides the obvious AGP Pro slot on the CUV4X etc. P3V4X and CUV4X lovers please post your experiences with the boards. Thank You.

SiSoft Sandra scores for P3V4X; 375/439- this is with memory interleaving, and all reg tweaks I could find. Not bad, but still only 75% as good as the old BX boards(If they only had the 1/2 AGP divider!!!!)

Resinboy, something must be wrong, I slowed down my 650 to 866 used Beta4 way and I get the same score as you posted. What are you using for memory settings in bios?
actually 379/439

Do you use Beta4Way? Is your system/ram set to 1 to 1 in bios? make sure it's not at 4/3. score seem low for your speed.

My system specs:
P3V4X running a 550E@733
192mb ram cas2
memory speed at 133mHz
beta4w.com to enable 4-way interleave

Sandra scores 375/435

When I test the memory I turn off all background programs and reboot. Then test memory one time, this is the score. If the memory test is rerun several times, the scores go up because of memory cashe -or so I am told. I wonder how many people run the test several times and report the score as the highest?

How do these scores compair to BX at FSB of 133mHz?

I will add that my P3V4X has been very stable for me. My only problem is that I can't get the memory bus to run at 4/3 speed. Oh well.

OK, i dont have a Pentium anymore, but the Athlon uses a VIA chipset.
Sisoft tells me in W2K the following: 408/487 using Athlon 800, PC133 CL2, fastest settings (i think, anyone has a guide for setting this stuff up?) Suprisingly, 1G P3 using PC800 RDRAM is included in the overview at 325/345, so i dont think you guys do so bad. :)

Beta 4 Way
Try this, I had much better luck than just WCPCREDIT, in fact my score is better using this than with the 2 combined.
We can get off this thread if you like just send PM.
good luck

Both the boards you mention have been out for awhile,so both are very stable, I would buy the CUV4X if you have FCPGA, if you have a Slot1 cardtridge processor go for P3V4X,I`ve a VIA chipset(AMD board)but have had no problem at all with it.Btw I`m a gamer & my last board was Intel so if I had problems(with my Via chipset) I would tell you so.
