I've got 2 motherboard options for my machine which is going to be newly assembled. Mercury KT600 board and an Aopen KM400 ( MK77M-8XN ) micro atx board. Mercury board hasn't go 6 channel audio where Aopen has. Mercury only got VIA Vt1612a 2 channel audio.

I want to know that will KM 400 be alot slower than the KT600..........I'm going to use seperate radeon 9000 graphics card. Also Mercury got 2 more PCI slots than Aopen. Is KM400 slower or better than KT400?...

I've got AMD 2600+ 333FSB
256DDR 2700 Kingston RAM
80GB HD(not SATA)

I haven't got other mobo options here. Only these two. So what would be the best.........

Thanksss for your replys.............

KT600 should give you better performance even with your video card. The only reason I'd go with the KM400 is if you want to use a compact case. KM400 is newer than KT400/A but still not on even par with the KT600.

But as I was reading some reviews of both these chipsets, I got to know that KM400 performs same as KT400. As you know KT400 defeats its brother KT400A with DDR333 benchmarks, there would be little difference between KT600 vs KM400(KT400+Integrated solutions)............
