Why do you need to remove them?If it`s for a newer version,just install latest version(4.51) in safe mode(that`s what VIA recommends and what I did),if you just want to remove them, then you need to run the 4.49v2 driver exe. again like you would for install and there should be an option to uninstall all parts of the drivers again.

i heard some of the older VIA boards dont like the newer versions so i thought i might downgrade *havent done it yet* and see if it made a difference but i doubt the KT400 in my mobo is one of the pre mentioned older boards

I'm running the latest (4.51?) Hyperions on my Dad's KT266a and they're stable.

I`m also using the 4.51s in my KT266A board (and WinXP) with no problems,as I already said I just installed them in safe mode to be sure of stable install,you should be fine doing it this way..
