Via hardware monitor won't start

I have the new Soltek 266a board and tried to install the Via hardware monitor software off the cd and when I start it I get the error
"VIA hardware monitor Error! VIA hardware monitor dosen't be initialized by your BIOS !!"

What in the world does this mean?
I have read about people with the Epox board getting the same error.
And I am running XP.
