Hey guys. I'm building a computer for myself, but I have some problems/questions to ask of you people. To start, I have had mucho problems with the VIA 4-in-1 drivers....I've gone from 4.24 all the way up to 4.29 final and they all act the same to me. I cannot enable DMA and make it stayed checked in the System Properties. Upon reboot, the boxe goes unchecked. This problems is relevant on my Asus A7V and Asus A7V133 motherboards. One more thing to note, I have a CDROM, CDRW, DVDROM, (2) HDDs in each machine now. Another thing to note is that the DMA does not stay enabled in Win9x/WinME, but in Win2k, it will stay checked, even when VIA 4-in-1 4.29 are installed. How come, though, my IDE HDDs still say SCSI next to them? Wierd, eh? I am just debating on whether I should go with the AMD/Asus A7V133 or Intel/Asus CUSL2 setup??? I haven't heard of any problems with the i815E chipset, which is used in the CUSL2 motherboard. I have heard some things about not being able to write CDs with certain drivers installed, which kind of shed me away from going with the Intel setup. Any suggestions/comments? Please help me on that VIA 4-in-1 issue.
Thanks a million!
