VIA DMA problem with NT *only*

Soyo SY-7VCA MoBo, WinNT SP6a.

Activating UDMA corrupts files when moving from ZIP drive [PIO] to HD [UDMA].
Works fine with Win98 [it's a dual boot machine], only trouble is with NT.

can anyone help? I'm stuck with a Seagate Barracuda ATA using it in PIO mode!!!
