Can't seem to get the yellow 'issue' icon off this item in the device manager. Therefore I can't get video card drivers installed.

win2k
p4 1.7
radeon 7000
via chipset apollo pro 266

I've tried quite a few things so far and nothing has worked:
unistalled it and restarted pc
tried forcing other versions of the driver to install
updated the via drivers
switched from acpi to standard pc
checked bios settings

any ideers before i format.

I assume you're using the 4.43 drivers since the new ones don't support the 266?

Or, it appears you may just need to make sure you have the latest service pack for Win2k.

Or possibly just not install the AGP driver when you install the VIA driver package.

You could also try deleting the item in Device Manager (not sure if you can uninstall an item with no drivers loading), or bring up the properties for it and select that it should try to update them. If it can't find any drivers, you might be able to manually point it to the folder where you extracted the Hyperion drivers.

tried all of the above with no success...one of the choices for manually forcing a driver made a spontaneous reboot.

pretty much given up and just decided to format and reload...thanks for the advice though.
