VIA Bus Master problems...

I'm getting low sandra scores (5800) so I checked my bus master driver, and tried to reinstall a new version from the ASUS website...During install it said "The registry entry error! You need to restart your computer!"
Restarted, tried to install again, same thing..
The driver is in device manager, but every thing in DMATOOL is greyed out. A score of ~5800 can't be right...
Any help?

When a third party driver is installed (such as the AMD EIDE Driver), the DMA box will no longer appear. However, the driver is programmed to use all devices in their most optimal configuration. Therefore, if DMA is available for that particular device, the driver will use it.
while your score appears to be low, suggest you try HDTach instead as it is a better benchmarking software than sandra.
