I had to disable VIADRV.SYS in order to get into my system after installing 4-in-1 version 4.32. I got a blue screen of death on that file that would not let me in on safe or debug mode. An average user would have been toast.
I find that now I get a new HARDWARE DETECTED install wizard upon every single reboot even after installing 4in1 and bus master VIA drivers version 4.40. My control panel told me that the VIA BUS MASTER drivers were not installed and that it could not find any (device manager.)
So then I noticed when I tried the console again that VIAIDE was a service that was disabled. I used the console to enable VIAIDE. Now I'm still getting the same message, but my device manager is telling me that my PRIMARY IDE channel, my SECONDARY BM Ultra DMA Channel, and my Secondary IDE channel are all error code 12 - resources used by another application. Resources are showing conflicts between all these controllers.
