VIA apolo mobo question Abit VA6

spec shows there is audio controller or something on board, what is this?
does it need sound card?

its a sb pro compatible CRAP card.. sound is very low, no hardware volume control, and it's statically!..

this board IS NOT GOOD at all, would avoid at all cost.

I have a Va6,just got an Asus P3v4x to replace it. The VA6 does have onboard sound,which isn't stellar. The biggest problem is the memory throughput,which is an issue for VIA boards anyway,but the VA6 scores are the worst I've seen. Out of the box,I got 161/171 in Sandra! I got into the mid 200's with WPcredit,but that still sucks. Don't buy it.
