NEED HELP! I JUST PURCHASED A (SHUTTLE AK31) MOTHERBOARD AND I AM HAVING TROUBLE I INSTALLING THE 4IN1 DRIVER. I AM RUNNING XP PRO OS AND A XP1600 PROCESSOR. THE MESSAGE THAT I KEEP GETTING IS ( UNABLE TO FIND THE .INF SOURCE FILE, CHECK THE /I SWITCH ON THE SETUP COMMAND FILE) I DOWNLOADED FROM THE SHUTTLE SITE THE LATEST 4IN1 DRIVER AND STILL GET THE SAME ERROR. ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED.
 
Firstly, learn to NOT USE THE CAPS LOCK WHILE TYPING.

What version of the 4in1 are you using? VIa has developed a version which is compatible with the XP. It's 4.36 I think.
 
Im using 4.32 that I got from shuttle site...is there a more recent version? and do I even need to install the 4in1 driver if I am using xp system
 
What makes you think that you need to install these drivers? What is not working correctly? Pillage2001 responded to my question as I was typing obviousely. Makes sense.
 
Windows XP has built-in 4-in-1 drivers. I have Shuttle AK31A with XP 1600 with default Win XP drivers and my system is blazing fast and rock stable. If it ain't broken, don't fix it.
 
Not shure about the drivers. I installed the mboard and was following the book instructions. the hard drive that I use is ata100 and I thought that the drivers were required it operate the hard drive at the correct speed?????

Not exactly, but you'd only need the Inf Drivers from the 4-in-1 ver 4.36 for Win XP [at least according to VIA].
 
Rahminator.....you are absoutely correct....if it ain't broke ...don't fix it...right now my system is running great...sorry for all the trouble.. I'll leave well enough alone
 
Hey watersboy, just go out and buy a new system, I know your wife wont mind! You could give her 2 glass flowers as a token that youre sorry for spending money on more computer stuff.
