after installing the 4-in-1 drivers on my k7m, every time i shut down the computer, it doesn't understand the binary language all of a sudden and reboots instatead of shutting down... i have to turn off the power to shut it down.

any one else have this really annoying problem??

My p3v4x refuses to restart, I have to turn it off and then back on.
Minor annoyance but still an annoyance none the less.

I have an Aopen kx133 and it gets stuck on the "Windows is shutting down" screen. It started a week after i installed the drivers though. I think it hs to do rather with IE5.5. Anyone else think so?

actually no, it doesn't have to do with ie5.5. i say that b/c i only ie5 and i am still suffering.... but i feel your pain steelthorn and veryape!

anyone solve the issue specific to the asus mb with via 4in1 drivers?

Two things to try:

1. Shut off the Power Management.

2. Reload your anti-virus.

These two systems can hang a VIA-based m/b for some reason.

what do you mean by shut off 'power management'? do you mean disable all (hdd, monitor, system standby) from going into effect after a while? if so, yes, i have my power mgmt set to never put anything on standby. everything is always on.

as far as AV is concerned, i did a recent clean reinstall and haven't put AV yet so that is not the problem either.

thanks for the tip though. anyone else have any ideas???

I am using the latest drivers also and I keep having errors when booting up instead of just shuting down. I also get some of the binary language garbage on my screen when shuting down and booting up. I use IE 5.0 and I do not use any antivirus software for the moment either.
