Only the IDE busmasters under Windows 2000. They suck. Not overt instability, just subtle problems that you suspect are attributable.

Tell me about it! I'm wondering if ANYONE has had any luck with the "Via Busmastering" ?

Messed up my drives, reported them all as SCSI.

I'm using the new AGP drivers and my 3dmark 2000 score went up about 700 points. The IDE drivers are HORRIBLE. Computer kept freezing and unfreezing randomly.

I was talking to a guy earlier that swore that somehow the IDE's screwed up his entire ME system.........he complained of explore errors & hard locks + freeze/unfreeze problems.........tried to tell him he had more than Via problems but he wouldn't hear it! (LOL)

I can never get this VIA 4 in 1 work with my HD under win2k its always PIO Mode not UDMA mine is UDMA 66. I hope they come out a new version soon.

The new IDE Busmaster drivers caused corrupted data on my hard drive so I couldn't boot into Win2k anymore. I wasted 4 hours trying to recover, then gave up and reinstalled. Other have reported success, but I would personally avoid anything by VIA that is beta.
