stick you comments....

I just thought I'd pass the info along.
The performance benchmarks shown for these drivers are at VIA , on the 400 chipsets.

If my heads up on the new drivers or anyother releases of anything new, is of no
use in these forums, I wont post it here again.

Cheers

You are correct.

Also, my slight performance increase should not be gosple.
(As anyone has a brain to figure out I'm probably only one with results here so far)

Also ... the results post at VIA is on a earlier 9700 driver version.

And... IF I had known the VIA drivers were out. I would have installed them 1st before the new driver release for the 9700.
(I didnt know until after my 9700 drivers were installed)

When I installed them on a Epox 8K9A2+, Ti4200 I went from 11,5** to 9,9**, I reinstalled them and went to 11,7**, Something didn't go right the first time

I also ... did a re-install of the 2.5 drivers for the 9700 using the repair option in the CP setup pgm.

100 point gain now

For the record, I installed these drivers on my KT333 board and did my usual UT/WinZip compression benchmark, which would reveal mostly whether it's improved the PCI/IDE performance. The compression was a couple seconds longer, out of a total of about 3 minutes, so no real change for my rig in that area.
