vi or emacs? (was: The Simpsons live in Missouri)

His town uses two area codes - 636 and 939. I haven't checked 939 because this connection isn't too speedy and I'm not terribly comfortable on a G3 Tower. However, I have to say that them living in Missouri is impossible. Do you remember the episode where they had a hurricane and the eye of i passed right over them? Missouri isn't near any large bodies of water either. I'm curious to see how 939 comes back.

ROFL
It's always been geographically impossible considering the places they've been to.

Yeah, I think it's quite obvious that they live in Everytown, USA. I never even thought of looking at the two area codes they mention to figure out where they point. As I expected, it didn't yeild any useful clues.

has anyone thought of the possiblity that they dont live in any specific state and its just a tv show?

....just a thought

i refuse to believe that its *just* a tv show.

:disgust:

I remember looking at a state map of tennesse and seeing a city called springfield then alittle bit north a city called shelbyville.

Of course they dont want to give a state name because then it limits their possiblitys (SP?) but I believe they got those city names from tennesse.

i always thought it was Springfield, Il., just down the road from me. Thats our capitol and I assumed the show was about our governor since he seems to be Homer in real life.

What number? If you actually heard a number on TV the people who's phone number it actually is could sue FOX. That's why they always use 555-xxxx. I think you're lying 😉

Not Missouri.

Remember the one with the gummi de milo that homer grabbed from the babysitter's ass? She did that whole sexual harassment thing. Homer went on public access TV, and when they were dressing the set, they wanted a flag. Grampa brought it out, but it only had 49 stars.

Lisa: But that flag only has 49 stars.

Grampa: I'll be deep in my cold grave before I recognize Missoura!

🙂

no i saw the show too, they gave a couple of numbers, but i wasn't paying that much attention, when i saw this thread, i recalled hearing the area code, but i didn't write the numbers down or anything

Poor, poor people. It is well established that they have no state. They are a drive away from New York. Walking distance to Vegas. They have a harbor. On the show when the smart people take over, it shows the computer screen of the most livable cities(we have moved up to 299, take that East St. Loius! says the comic book guy), notice every other city on the list has a state, springfield says 299. Springfield, USA.
