VHS TO PC help?

Hey guys. I was wondering what software and hardware is necessary to record my VHS tapes on my PC. I once did it through my webcam by pluggin in my Video cam into it, but it was pretty crummy quality. So what do i need to make it?

Search for VHS, and set it to search Titles and Summaries Only.

Quick summary of my posts to those threads:
-Hauppauge PVR 250 or 350 to record to the PC. And get a good VCR. A cheap VCR will likely give a lousy picture and mono sound.
- I use Ulead Videostudio for MPEG2 -> MPEG2 conversion (removal of commercials for instance, then to DVD).
- If I need filtering, I use Virtualdub-MPEG2, and some MSU Virtualdub Filters (Google that) like their denoiser to clean up the picture, and maybe the sharpener. Then I compress it losslessly to Huffyuv, and then use Videostudio to make it MPEG2 again. Or I can compress it to XviD. Use two passes for XviD - much better quality with a smaller filesize. The first pass analyzes the video to determine where the complex scenes are. They are allocated more dataspace in the file. Then on the second pass, it uses that information to more accurately compress the video.
