May sound simple, but a little more complex than some may realize. My grandfather owns the largest juggling collection in the world. This includes videos in various formats. We are looking to convert ~150 DVD's and >200 VHS tapes (has many more than this, but we only want certain ones) to digital format and saved onto HDD. So my question would be: What is the best way to do this?
We can do them currently one at a time, but it is time consuming. We're reaching out to external sources, but I want to see if we can do this at home first at a reasonable price point.
I am aware of several options to actually record on your PC from a VHS. But one at a time is entirely too time consuming. What should I do?
I was considering hiring external, but I'd ultimately like to build a PC which would allow me to have multiple inputs (maybe 4-5) that would allow me to connect the VHS player to it. I would hook up each VHS and save directly to the HDD on the custom built tower. I've looked at several VHS converters (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...=-1&isNodeId=1) but I'm unsure if I can run several of these at a time. Say use six VHS players with six VHS adapters and copy six at a time onto my PC. The same would go for DVD's. My pc would have ~four DVD trays and copy six at a time to my PC.
Any suggestions? =)
Not the same highly technical topic, but so much experience around here which leads to some inventive solutions to my problem.
