Does someone know if there exist any devices/connectors/converters to connect a VGA output to a TV?

Because I want to play dvd's on my laptop and show it on the TV but my laptop does not have an TV-out, only VGA.
 
There are converters that will do it. I think they are expensive though. The cheap ones might not give the best quality, but I haven't messed with them in 3-4 years.

What you are looking for is called a scan converter. They start at about US$100, but better ones are from about $200 and up. The Focus TView Gold is recommended, it's about $180.

If all you want to do is watch DVD's on TV I would suggest you just buy a stand-alone DVD player. The picture is better than ANY computer-based solution.
