VGA to HDMI cable?

anyone know where I can get a VGA to HDMI cable?

All I've seen are VGA to DVI, my laptop only has vga ;(

Then buy an HDMI->DVI dongle...isn't the prettiest of solutions, but do what you gotta do.

you will need a a/d converter to pull that off, and I've never seen one....

I've seen converters that do VGa to s-video or even component though

Per Steven Hill of Straight Wire. You can't go from VGA to HDMI.

Get a video card that outputs in HDMI.

Certain DVI flavors carry the analog signal and other varieties are Digital only. HDMI and DVI share the same exact common LVDS digital signal, that is how HDMI and DVI combination cables exist. But HDMI completely omits the analog portion of it's transmission.

* DVI-D (digital only)
* DVI-A (analog only)
* DVI-I (digital and analog)

I am USING a DVI-A Cable on one of my Sony GDM monitors. The other monitor uses a standard VGA Cable and both displays are getting signals from an ATI 9700 PRO.
