Does anyone know where to get the VGA switch card for this Asus motherboard? Or do you have one that you are willing to part with? Need one to plug into top pci-e slot to enable the bottom pci-e slot to run at 16x. Without it, both slots will only run at 8x if using a single gpu. I only have the gtx 460. Thanks for any help.

Hello davezzz and welcome aboard.

AFAIK this board comes with a switch card. If yours is missing contact your reseller but even without the card you should be fine. The bottom slot should be sufficient for your card even if running at 8x. In the worst case scenario you'll experience a performance hit in the range of 1-2 percent tops.

Thanks for the reply! First out of four forums to reply to this. Awesome! So really, the performance isn't going to be that noticeable? In the future I wouldn't mind just getting a crossfire setup on the 8x 8x pci-e slots, but going with the 460 gtx for now. As long as it runs good in game, won't be disappointed then.

My specs will be: Asus M4A89GTD Pro USB3
Evga Nvidia GTX 460
AMD Phenom II X4 955
4 GB G.Skilll RipJaw DDR3-1600
OCZ 700w psu
Western Digital Caviar Black 500gb 64mb cache

Approx. zero performance difference. :) But I'm sure ASUS can send you one if you talk well enough.

Thanks for the help on this. I just wanted to make sure that I can still run some games smooth enough without it. Glad I came here to inquire!
