VGA splitter + pc speakers --> console

I'm trying to connect a PC and a dreamcast to a monitor via a VGA cable. I was wondering if there is a VGA splitter that lets me connect both to the monitor -- so I don't have to switch back and forth, and etc. What's the "technical name" for one of these splitters? :p

And, I'm also trying to connect my Logitech speakers to my dreamcast / PC. So, I also need a splitter (which one?), but I'm not sure if there is a converter or not so that I can connect my speakers, which uses a single green color coded speaker cable, to the dreamcast, which uses the standard red, yellow, and white connectors. What do I need??

I think I need three things total, a VGA splitter, a thing to connect my speakers (uses one cable) to the dreamcast (uses red, yellow, white connector), and a sound cable splitter?

Thank you in advance :)

KMV switch would probably work better than a splitter.

What gender is the dreamcast output for Red/White audio? Female right on the unit or is there a cable that connects to it and ends in a male connection?

Either way, you should be able to get an adapter like one of these to match. You'll want 3.5mm female on the other end of the cable.

Something like this, but it will be easier to say knowing the gender of your dreamcast connections.

From that point, you can use a splitter so each source is connected to your speakers.
OR
If your KMV does audio as well, then just connect the audio from both sources to the switch and the KMV will switch audio along with video.

For the red and white audio cable, there is a cable that connects to the system, and it ends in a male connection I believe (so it can connect to a TV). I guess I need something that will have two female ends (one end for the red and white audio, and the other end for the single cable from my pc speakers). The cable from my computer speakers ends in a male connection (so it can connect to a computer or mp3 player etc) Right? Not sure  Which one specifically @ cablesforless?

edit -

Oh wait, I don't need the single cable that came with the speakers right? So I just need this, and then I can connect the male end to my speakers? I thought I needed the cable from the speakers too :p

I'd be reluctant to tell you exactly what you need right now without totally knowing what you're using for everything.

Are you saying you'd plug that 3.5mm stereo splitter directly into your speakers? (Like the green 3.5 mm cable detaches from the speakers and you could plug the splitter directing into your speaker set)

I believe so. The green cable that comes with the speakers has 2 male ends (one to connect to the bass box(? lol :() and to the computer). But if I get the 3.5mm stereo splitter, I won't need the green cable, right? I'd like to use the green cable too, since my dreamcast is rather far from my speaker set. Here's a poorly drawn picture to go along with my poor description :( http://pics.bbzzdd.com/users/Terabyte/dc.JPG

Also, is there a way I can have both my laptop and the dreamcast connected to the speaker also--so a splitter/converter in one? I hate fudging with cables :p

I thought the VGA Box for DC had a 3.5mm stereo female plug?? Maybe it is just my offbrand box

Oh man, I'm stupid :( It does. I guess I have the audio part down.

So, a KVM switch would be best for sharing the monitor between the dreamcast and pc?

Yeah, a KMV should work great if you have the audio portion figured out now.

(You really only need the "M" portion of it, but I don't know if that's going to get you any better / cheaper options than a standard KMV option)
