VGA Silencer

I recently bought a VGA silencer r3. I notices the bottom surface was rough, but installed it anyway. Looking back.. should i have lapped it?

Mine was the same way (a little rough).

As long as you properly applied Artic Silver 5, your good to go.

That is an asymmetrical heat sink. It is very difficult to lap. I did. Half way through, I was not happy that I did. It is OK now. But, it is very easy to screw up.
