Hello people of the moderator world!

I myself run around a lot in the Graphics Cards/Video Card section, and seeing that there are maybe one or two post every day asking for advice as to which video card to purchase.

Some of the people that do ask, barely give any background information to make the job easier for those of us who volunteer our time to help them out.

My idea, would be to set up a small template(much like in the hardware section) asking specifics about the system which the card would be going into, desired settings, resolution, budget, etc.

If i was to make such thread, would anyone support making it a sticky?

Thanks for reading and have a nice day 🙂

Edit: Suggestions are welcomed!

when they get time, they'll chime in otherwise GIVE IT TIME and btw, pestering me via PM is not going to further your cause.

Sorry, i thought 6(now 8) hours would be sufficient for a response, i guess not.

Moving on

I'll sticky it as long as it's informative and maintained by yourself. If it stops receiving updates it'll be unstickied.

Okay, so this is just a blank template? I thought you were actually going to fill in the recommendations yourself with some basic guides (e.g. if you have a processor in X range and you game at Y resolution, your most cost effective GPU upgrade is…).

Kind of like how nVidia promotes building a balanced rig on their website, and they let you choose several combinations to see what is best for you.

I see little use in a blank template but since you put in the effort, I’ll sticky it for two weeks to give it a fair run. If nothing useful comes from it, it’ll be unstickied.

Also I edited the bit about you saying it’s okay to contact moderators about getting changes made to the content. The thread has nothing to do with us; you are responsible for maintaining it.

Thanks.

Well, i'm always willing to do a guide with my personal knowledge, which is somewhat limited as far as how many cards i've gotten my hands on, not to mention there are a billion of those when you google stuff up.

I've done a pair of benchmarks on the cards i've gotten my hands on, that's really all i got.

Just be fair and allow others to add their input, even if it goes against what YOU feel is appropriate. That's what makes a successful and progressive sticky.

Sorry RavenSEAL, was not ignoring you or your proposition to the vid mods. I've been without internet for the past 10days or so.

Giving this thread a cursory glance for now but I agree with BFG10K's position that a template is merely a starting point for whoever is intending to own the sticky.

But to be a valuable contribution (i.e. sticky-worthy) it needs to be more than just a template.
