VGA for 3D Apps

Hi all,
Need advice, i'm going to buy VGA cards for my PC ( 1.2 Athlon, RAM 512 Mb PC2100, 40 Gb Maxtor HDD ), i'm planning run 3D application on it (Maya, Studio Tools etc). Someone told me that Elsa Sinergy 2000 are the budget/entry level VGA cards for proffesionnal (but the price are high), are there any substitutes with more reasonable price ? Would GeForce2MX with 64mb SDR enough ? With the same price i can get a 64 Mb GeForce2 GTS (from PowerColour), should i get the GeForce2 GTS or The Elsa ? or GeForce 3 Ti 200 ?
