VGA<DVI?

Right now Im using a Dell 15" lcd with only the VGA connector. If i changed to a 19"@ the same resolution but with DVI instead, will my graphics look better?
 
you may or may not notice much difference at all... the difference is simply one is a digital signal; the other is analog. the analog signal (d-sub, or vga as you refer to it) is more susceptible to interference/degradation, however they both send the same information. since cables from pc to monitor are generally short, there shouldn't be much degradation anyway, regardless of the type of signal.

 
To me, VGA looks washed out compared to DVI, but this is something that depends on the users perception.

You may be blown away by the difference, or you may be pissed you spent the money on the DVI cable.

That difference in contrast is likely a difference between inputs on your monitor or outputs on your videocard.
