I have a spare 15" LCD that I bought a few years ago for very cheap and since it was cheap, it only has a VGA connection.

Is there a way for me to use this LCD as a second display?

I have a video card with VGA-out, DVI-out, and TV-out so I was hoping that I can buy some kind of VGA->DVI connector/adapter to use the LCD as a second display.

If this is possible what would I need to buy (and from where) and are there any disadvantages of this?

Thanks in advance! ;)

no disadvantages, you dont get the benefits of dvi, but it works really well. I had 2 of them on my x1900xtx till I switched to a dvi lcd and decided never to go back.

I have 3 sitting around here.

Ill send ya one for 5$ shipped if interested pm me!

I think you mean DVI->VGA adapter, and no, there's no noticable disadvantages compared to a native VGA output.

Most video cards come with one or two, so are you sure yours didn't?

Thanks for the replies gents.

Gah, I just searched for my video card and went and see what was supposed to be in the box and I see "DVI-VGA adapter" so you're right unfalliblekrutch.

Now, I just gotta find it!

Thanks again!
