I just installed a new VF900 on my 7900GT. I followed the instructions to the letter, but the standoffs on the heatsink side are leaving a 2mm gap between the rubber rings and the PCB. The thumb screws are as tight as I was comfortable doing, but should I tighten it all the way?

I remember some reviews said it bends the PCB a little. It looks like tightening it all the way would do that, but it seems unneccesary. I have idle/load temps of 36/45 now.

Thoughts?

did u try rotating the vf900 90 degrees and trying different holes? if the picture i have in my head is correct. it shouldn't bend your board, just tight enough is good.

It's an even gap on all 4 standoffs. If I rotate the VF900, the fan won't be positioned to blow air on all the ramsinks as designed. It's been running for a couple hours no no sweat, so I suppose I'll leave it.
