VF700 vs. Silencer NV5

I searched for reviews comparing the NV silencer to the VF700. I mostly want silence so i'm comparing the silent mode of the VF700 to whatever the Silencer does (i think it changes with the temp?). How is the noise. I'm putting this on a 7900GT but I am willing to do the easy mod to get the silencer to fit.
thanks and sorry for the stupid question

hmmmmmmmmm that's gotta be a really close comparison. I've had the Silencer 4 and have the VF700 now. If I had to say, the vf-700 is quieter at low speed than the Silencer at about 75%.

I don't think noise is an issue here as much as where you want your hot exhaust to go. If you have good case cooling, stick with the vf700. If you want it out of the case or don't have great cooling, get the Silencer.

I loved my nvsilencer 5 rev.3 at first but after a few months of use the fan has developed a very annoying rattle that comes and goes. I will be ditching it for the zalman vf-900 shortly... It's too bad too because I really liked how the silencer exhausted out the back of the case 🙁

My airflow isn't bad, but there isn't a fan near the GPU so the Zalman won't get cooled much at all which is why I want the DHES. I want to try the volt mod to 1.4 so I do need good performance. I read that the VF700 at low fan speed really sucks.

bump
I just thought of a nice advantage for the Silencer. I have a WiFi card in one of my PCI slots and was hoping to buy a sound card later, with a dual slot cooler I wouldn't be able to. But my WiFi card is short, it is as long as the PCI port, with the silencer's fan in the back, the card won't get in the way of airflow. I think i have to get this one if I want a soundcard and my WiFi card.

I have the vf900 in a thermaltake tsunami dream (not the greatest airflow but not bad) and I OC'd the hell out of my card and it never sees 58C even when its 80F in my room (i live in southern california and the house's AC just never cools my room even if its freezing downstairs -.-😉
most of the time it only gets up to 53ish (since i usually play in the cool mornings or late at night)

i had to stick my hand in the case to tell it was on lol =P

I can't spend that much, I want to hit 650 at 1.4V, do you think the VF700 could keep up with that? My case stays around 29 but i'm getting a replacement 120mm that should lower it (the GPU cooler comes first though). Right now i'm leaning to the VF700 since people are sying it's quieter even at 12V and will get a couple degrees lower temps on top of it; can anyone say this from personal expierience.
