VERY weird windows XP problem

I was browsing an off-topic picture thread and looking at pictures, saving the ones to hard drive i enjoyed when for no reason i could no longer right click anything. I couldnt right click pictures, my desk top, the task bar, nothing. So I restarted. When I came back in the room a blue windows xp screen was being displayed and white text was being scrolled as it performed operations. I am pissed I could find nothingto write down what it was saying. Something about deleting xxx, reinserting file, xxx % complete and so on. I am wondering if it was a weird error with the hard drive or something? After it finished everything is working fine? I am running virus scanner now but I dont think it was virus? Anyone?

Never heard of that. Maybe Windows File Protection (anyone?).

Go Start --> Run --> "eventvwr.msc", and check the logs for warnings or errors that date to the time the problem occured.
