Very weird problem

Ok, this is a little hard to describe but basically here is what is happening:

All of a sudden, when I try to right click -> close, an open window tab on my taskbar, I no longer have any right click options, and instead, the window tab in the taskbar turns orange and flashes. If anyone has any idea about this, or has had the problem, I will go into further detail, but this is generally what is happening. I have searched for over 3 hours trying to find a solution but to no avail.

Thanks for any help ahead of time.

haha, i guess we think alike, becuase thats what I do everytime this happens. Problem is, after a few days, it happens again, and then I have to system restore again. I have problem done a system restore 10 times in the last month.

Anyone have this problem, or a solution?

thats possible, it almost always happens during browsing. But I dont ever go anywhere other than here, and espn.com. Honestly it seems like it is just some setting that gets sutomatically shanged somehow. I dont know who would ever want this as a preference, but who knows. It is very annoying.

Well, your problem is very strange. One more thing I can assume is about your system restore.
How are you doing it? Using Windows XP CD or roll back the system state to the previous one via the backup/restore feature built in Windows?

In both cases it might be not enough to 'kill' the bug.
Can't suggest anything else but reformatting and making a clean install. If you have the OEM version, go back to the original state of the system using hidden partition. But If you decide to reformat, don't forget to backup and image the system drive at list.
